There are so many things happening here that you can spend more than one day and not cover everything.

You will find local produce, exotic food, local spices, arts, handicraft and souvenirs there. This is where you will find it. You can find that Port Louis is famous for cheap clothing.

Some of them have been made locally and other goods imported from India and China. It is also where people buy items like curry and teas for their own stuff.

If you're not visiting the relatively undeveloped southern part of the island, Mauritius will not be complete.

Since the majority of the area is without a beach, tourists are less visited and thus less developed.

This makes Mauritius the most untouched part of the island and the best place to see the true Mauritian life in Mauritius.

It has beautiful scenery and some of the wildest countryside along the Souillac-le Morne coastal road.

You will also visit Mauritius on the road to Ile aux Aigrettes, the wonderful Lion Mountain and the town of Mahebourg.

Mahebourg is located in the southern part of the island and on the stunning Grand Port Bay, one of the country's main fishing villages.

This is certainly an area to be visited in Mauritius to make the true Mauritians feel less influential outside.
