We all have been a people pleaser at least at some point in our lives. It was always taught to us that one should always say YES to the opportunity and never let it go. But, at this point in life, don't you feel that sometimes saying yes to the opportunity might be much more of a hindrance than saying no to it.

Keep the ball in his court while you will be laying with him. Ask him, which one he wants to prioritize? Is it his work or the work that you are pending for the company. And take my words, he is going to back out from it.
