HEALTH: modification of the state medical aid regime (AME)

In the Official Gazette of November 1, 2020, decree n ° 2020-1325 of October 30, 2020 was published relating to state medical aid and the conditions allowing to benefit from the right to cover health costs for insured persons. who cease to have a legal residence in France.

This decree, which amends the Code of Social Action and Families (CASF), defines:

• the procedures for covering certain health costs for adult AME beneficiaries subject to a period of seniority for benefiting from the right;
• the possibilities of derogating from these new modalities by a request for derogatory coverage aimed at obtaining prior approval from the medical control service of the health insurance organization;
• the procedures for submitting the first requests for AME and for the entry into force of the right;
• the conditions under which people who cease to have a legal residence in France can benefit from the right to cover health costs and, where applicable, to additional health protection. As of right will now be closed as soon as a deportation order has become final, provided that this closure occurs at least two months after the expiry of the residence permit
