To start with, Pepsi has never been the first unpredictable company to venture into the smartphone industry. For example, Facebook ventured into it back in 2013. They tested the waters with HTC in 2013, making Kodak to follow suit by releasing the IM5. As there is no successful business without sales, it soon turned to be a dramatic flop for Facebook with only about 15,000 units sold in the United States. Recording their individual success story, there was no sales results attributed to Kodak though, except the fact that only 4 stores in the Netherlands stocked in their products, with no much of a good result.

But one notable thing about the two company they both had quit convincing reasons to try out smartphones. Facebook, on its own allege that, the phone was designed to promote the unsuccessful replacement for the Android desktop. While Kodak aimed at consumers who bought or were buying a smartphone for the first time, relying on their brand being known to the Older users already.

But virtually everybody wondered why Pepsi would go into the Chinese competitive smartphone market when their core business had nothing whatsoever to do with technology. This made optimistic to be asking such questions as : Why will Pepsi go into the smartphone industry. Owing to this, and many more related query , one of their representatives, had to clear the air by saying thus :

"Pepsi has no plans to get into the mobile phone manufacturing business, but we are committed to engaging with consumers in innovative ways to grow our brand. We’ll share more news as it becomes available."

Pepsi smartphone P1 Review : Design and Display.

We have a 5.5 inch 1080p LCD screen that is clear, bright, vivid and one of the best panels in this cheap phone.

There is a 5 megapixel selfie camera at the top of the screen. Unfortunately, there are no LED notification lights and the capacitive buttons are not backlit. For the main camera we have a 13MP shooter that is coupled with an LED flash. There is a fingerprint scanner under the camera. While not the fastest, it is accurate enough to work directly in standby.

All of the icons on the home screens contain Pepsi design elements. Although this confirms the purpose of this phone, many users might not be a big fan of this cartoon. On the other hand, the user interface has numerous customization options and some additional functions such as gesture and movement control.
