Has it ever occurred to you that, you were dreaming regarding something, it was kinda soothing yet suddenly when you woke up, you couldn't even recall a single bit of what you have been dreaming about? It has occurred to all of us at least once in our lifetime, and if you would ask me? It's pretty annoying. So, is there any way to control our dreams? Or maybe even aware of the fact that we are dreaming? The answer will be Yes, there is. The most common term used for such practice is called Lucid Dreaming.


A lucid dream is a dream during which the dreamer is aware that they are dreaming. Even it might happen that the dreamer might get a certain degree of control over their dream characters, narrative and environment. But don't get too much drifted away with the term lucid, as it is not associated with being the dream lucid.

  1.  Keeping a dream journal is the first thing that could be done while trying to achieve a Lucid dream. The best thing to do is to keep the journal right beside your bed, and as soon as you stumble across a dream, just after you wake up try to keep a track of it.
  2. Give yourself a reality check once in a while, try to do it till you incorporate it into your subconscious, so that even in your dream, you will give yourself a reality check. A reality check may include pinching yourself it the hand or nose or something like that.
  3. Try to drift back to sleep even after you wake up at night all of a sudden.
