Step 1 – Mend the Network Data and Transaction Log Files by Modifying their Name

If there are issues with the .ND and .TLG files, QuickBooks Multi-user mode won’t run correctly. To eradicate the issue, you need to rename the files in the following manner –

  1. Open the QuickBooks File Directory and search for the files with the .ND and .TLG extensions to access them.
  2. Right-click one of the file names and select Rename to add .OLD at the end of it as a suffix.
  3. Repeat this step for all the network data and transaction log files to repair the file damage.
  4. Once done, rerun QuickBooks and access the multi-user mode to check if the issue is dismissed.

Step 2 – Perform a Widows Firewall Configuration to Prevent the Blockage

If your QuickBooks keeps opening in single-user mode, you can try configuring your firewall settings.

  1. From the Windows Start menu, access the Control Panel and search for Windows Firewall from the search box.
  2. Select the Allow an app through Windows option to prevent QuickBooks from being blocked by the firewall.
  3. Select Change Settings and checkmark the box under the Public List section for your QuickBooks Desktop application.
  4. Hit OK and select Public for your application to end the configuration process.
