Pawna Lake has been created mainly by the Pawna dam as an artificial lake (Pavana dam). Pawna Dam is in Maval Taluka, on the Pawna River, some 40 kilometers from the border of the city of Pimpri Chinchwad. It has about 10 TMC capacity. The dam began in 1963, ended in 1972, and is 1329m long, 42.37m high, with a total capacity of 0.24km for storage. The dam was constructed in 1973. (0.058 cu mi).
